GF15M - 15% Glass Fiber + 5% Mos2 Filled PTFE Tube

15% Glass fiber and 5% Mos2 filled PTFE tube is made of 15% glass fiber + 5% Mos2, has improved the ability of dimensional stability and higher deformation under load than normal PTFE. PolyTetraFluoroEthylene is a fluorocarbon-based polymer and is commonly named PTFE. While the most famous brand of PTFE is called Teflon manufactured by DuPont, several other manufacturers make their own brands of PTFE which can often be used as substitute material. PTFE has outstanding chemical resistance, a wide operating temperature range from -200°C to 260°C, resistance to weathering, high impact strength, low friction, electrical and thermal insulation, and self-lubricating properties.

What Benefits the 15% Glass Fiber can Bring to PTFE Compounds?

After adding 15% glass fiber mixed with PTFE, the filled PTFE compound tubes has excellent chemical resistance dielectric properties which make it very suitable for chemical application and electricity industries. And the glass fiber also can make the hardness of PTFE harder. It also can improve wear and friction behavior, as well as creep resistance both at low and high temperatures. And the glass fiber in PTFE can be with various percentages such as 5%, 10%, 15% and 25%.

What Benefits the 5% Mos2 can Bring to PTFE Tube?

After adding glass fiber, the coefficient of friction for PTFE will get bigger, so the addition of the Mos2 reduces coefficient of friction and enhances wear resistance. Mos2 is short for Molybdenum Disulfide, also can be called Moly.
